Effective date: at launch · Draft prepared for review — every statement below describes how the software actually behaves. Give it (and your jurisdiction's requirements) a legal read before publishing.
ASSIMILATE has no accounts and collects no personal information. Your game lives in your browser. The optional online features are keyed by a random identifier that we cannot connect to you. Our analytics count events, not people — no cookies, no fingerprinting, no tracking across sites. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
Game progress (your device). Saves live in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device unless you use cloud backup. Clearing site data erases them — the Settings screen offers export and backup tools.
Cloud backup (optional). If you press "Back up now", a copy of your save is stored on our servers keyed by a random identifier ("sync code") generated on your device. It contains game progress only. Anyone with your sync code can access this backup — treat the code like a password. You can erase the server copy at any time with Settings → Cloud Backup → Delete cloud data, and it is deleted immediately.
Purchases. Checkout happens on Stripe's site; we never see or store your card details, name, or billing address. We keep a purchase record (random player identifier, the pack bought, amount, timestamp, and Stripe's transaction reference) because we must: it powers delivery, restores, refunds, and our legal/accounting obligations. These records are retained for as long as those obligations require and are not deleted with cloud data. Stripe's own processing is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Leaderboards (optional). Submitting a score stores the display name you chose, the score, and your random identifier. Display names are visible to other players; choose one accordingly.
Analytics. We keep aggregate daily counters (for example: "sessions started today: 1,204") with no identifiers of any kind attached. Page analytics uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not profile visitors. We cannot single you out in either system, and neither can anyone we could hand data to — the individual-level data simply does not exist.
Bot protection. Purchase and leaderboard requests run a Cloudflare Turnstile check (Cloudflare's privacy policy). Our servers see your IP address transiently to rate-limit abuse; we do not store it.
No accounts, no emails (unless you later join the newsletter, which is separate and opt-in), no advertising identifiers, no selling or sharing of data, no cross-site tracking, no profiling, no third-party analytics SDKs inside the game.
· Erase local data: your browser's site-data controls, or Settings → Reset Save.
· Erase cloud data: Settings → Cloud Backup → Delete cloud data (immediate).
· Leaderboard removal or purchase-record questions: contact us with your sync code
or receipt id.
· Data portability: Settings → Export JSON gives you your complete save at any time.
The game is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction), and we knowingly collect no personal information from anyone.
Material changes to this policy will be announced on the news page with the effective date above updated.
